"This hotel is an absolute gem! We had a charming Appenzeller style room, with bed canopy and hand painted features, looking on to the cobblestoned pedestrian street and colourful buildings. Breakfast was excellent- a generous selection of local cheese and meat, freshly.baked breads and eggs. Highly recommend staying 3 nights, as you receive a card with free access to local cable cars and museums."

"This hotel is located in the old town of Appenzell. It’s a short level stroll from the train station. My bed was very comfortable & the bedroom had traditional paintings & features which added to the charm. I found the staff to be welcoming & helpful. The breakfast was delicious & a great start to the day. I was really, really happy that they were able to provide some extra gluten free products for me as I am a coeliac. I stayed two nights here & thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The property is exactly as described on the website."

"Todella ystävällinen ja mukava henkilökunta!!! Kiitos! Tosi hyvin organisoitu kaikki! Todella siistiä! Petivaatteet ja pyyhe kuuluu hintaan. Sijainti oli täydellinen, keskellä kaikkea. Lentokentälle pääsee S16-junalla, eikä tarvitse menna Hauptbahnhofin kautta. Eka huone oli pienempi, toinen iso, jossa oli kulmaikkunat, joista ihana näkymä Grossmunsterille. Kahvia ja teetä saatavilla ilmaiseksi. Tulisin uudelleen!"
