"We loved our stay at HI. The building is old and charming, with a cute common room with a pool table and small bar for guests (as well as on site ski storage). Rooms were clean and cosy and the staff were unbelievably nice and always willing to help (always greeted with a smile and a good sense of humour). Location is very convenient with a short walk to the gondola and all the restaurants. The hotel does a 3 course dinner which was like eating a great tasting home cooked meal (we loved the fruit tiramisu). They even catered to my vegetarian wife who wanted pasta, despite it not being on the menu. When we had trouble with our bus to the airport, the owner went over and beyond to help make sure we made it to our flight. We’ll definitely be back if we’re in Brides-Les-Bains!"

"Very central location close to Olympic gondola and bars / restaurants. Private parking behind hotel and in square round church. Clean and warm rooms, comfortable beds. Hotel is slightly basic, functioning as part of Hostelling International, but perfectly adequate for a budget ski week. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and had good variety of food. Evening meal was good value if nothing special. We did have towels provided despite other comments."

"Slightly spartan and tired decor although value for money convenience etc made this worthwhile. No soap / shampoo in rooms so need to provide your own."

"For a youth hostel they offer more than expected, negative comments come from guests who forgot how much they paid."

"Just needed one night here and it was perfectly ok. I recommend taking towels as there weren't any if you wanted a shower and no toilet roll. Not sure if this was missed or you just don't get any. Friendly staff, food was good if you want a meal without going out. For the money I think it was very good."

"Parking on-site is difficult if there has been heavy snow but there is a free undercover carpark a few minutes walk away. The room did not have a bath towel."
