Vuonna 1438 perustettu historiallinen Cathedral Gate perustettu Canterburyn sisällä. Pyhiinvaeltajien majapaikkana entisaikaan toiminut yöpaikka on vanhempi kuin viereinen Canterburyn katedraalille johtava portti. Hotellin tiloissa on vanhoja puupalkkeja ja viistot lattiat. "Lovely Hotel in an ancient building right in the heart of the City. Lovely staff, good facilities, quite a lot of steps and stairs to reach rooms but we felt very happy with everything. Breakfast excellent & fresh brewed coffee. Next door to a good fish & chips cafe."

Ancient building, very higgledy piggledy but spotlessly clean and all facilities clean and up to date. Excellent breakfast included with everything fresh. Was advised of an even older pub nearby and enjoyed my evening meal with a local beer there. All affordable and all spot on."

"Aivan ihastuttava vanha majatalo kävelymatkan päässä Yorkin keskustasta! Sisustus oli upea ja parkkipaikka talon takapihalla. Aamiainen oli melko suppea, mutta sitäkin parempi laadultansa - muista tilata lämpimät ruuat listalta! Majatalon omistaja (?) oli vanhempi herttainen rouva joka oli todella ystävällinen ja piirsi meille kartankin ja kertoi miten pääsemme keskustaan! Aamiaista oli tarjoilemassa maailman söpöin, kohtelias nuori poika myöskin! Huone oli todella siisti ja sängyt mukavat. Alakerrassa on myöskin olohuoneen tapainen yleinen tila, missä oli ihana vain oleskella. Kuulin myöskin, että koirat ovat tervetulleita ja omistajalla olikin oma koira paikalla!"

"Getting keys from the wall safe was easy. The place itself was lovely and quiet. Comfortable beds. Good heating. Nice small kitchen. Two bathrooms, one en-suite. Cosy living room. Good range of channels on the TV. Plus you are only a 10 minute walk from the Minster and old town, and only 20 minutes walk from the train station."
"Nice location right by the high street close to pubs and restaurants great feature have the suite with a bath in the bedroom as well as have a walk in shower in the bathroom soak and watch tv on the big tv it’s basically a posh studio flat. Great choice of breakfast if you go for it."
