"The people who run the Lodge are absolutely lovely. We had dinner and breakfast both of which were very well cooked and tasty."

I found the bed a little uncomfortable and i would prefer 2 pillows per person. The driveway is steep...a little intimidating for us Europeans! But we had a 4 wheel drive so we were fine.

"We spent a few days in spacious bungalows. We were picked up by taxi from the airport and quickly arrived at our accommodation, where Cynthia was waiting for us. Cynthia provided us with detailed information about the property (water, safety, etc.) and shared interesting facts about the area (shops, restaurants, and the beach). The bungalows have a well-equipped kitchenette and a large terrace, from which we could admire the starry sky in the evenings. In the morning, we were served a delicious breakfast, including homemade yogurt and jam. The morning conversations with Cynthia during breakfast were wonderful. The guesthouse also offered free rental of easy-to-use bicycles. We have fond memories of our lazy days on the atoll, and we highly recommend this guesthouse."

The guesthouse is no longer the newest, but that's why it has its own atmosphere.

"It was lovely staying in a traditional house in Kakopetria & being able to hear the river from our room. A lovely breakfast of cereals, toast, eggs, cheese, yoghurt, olives & cold meats (if you eat them) was provided. It was in a great location in the old town."

The bed was a bit soft for us, and it would have been nice to have a rug on the cold floor - we were there in March.

"Breakfast was fine - just remember to inform the owner the day before if you require breakfast. Ingrid, the co-owner, is a lovely woman and a fine, traditional cook. You will never leave the table hungry! Whilst she can offer beer at an extra cost, we tended to buy our own along with wine to drink at dinner. Again, you will need to inform Ingrid on the day if you require dinner later. There is no choice; me and my wife are both omnivores with no allergies or intollerances, and always liked what she prepared! Our lodge was spacious with a generous deck overlooking the beautiful gardens, and the sea in the background."

A small fridge in our lodge would have been a great bonus - however, we were free to use Ingrid's fridge. The shower was also a little on the dribbly side!

"Amazing location, cozy and cute cabins, the food was great and hosts were very warm and lovely people. Extra pluses are friendly furry friends, fire place possibilities and of course hot tub was the jewel of the stay."

"Haiko is a wonderful person who welcomed us upon arrival at the lodge and provided us with excellent directions to the island's beaches and restaurants/bars. The property is strategically located for reaching both the stunning northern beaches and Arikok National Park. We appreciated the lush vegetation surrounding the lodges and the chirping birds that accompanied us during breakfast. Each lodge respects privacy and is equipped with all the amenities, making it a delightful stay."

Having to leave

"The huts are amazing, great location max. 3 minutes from the slope if you stay in the furthest one. They’re clean and warm, have all the things you need to cook a pretty decent dinner for a couple of people and there’s even sponges and dish soap at the property. The huts are very warm and they stay that way during the night so you won’t be cold. The owner is great and is quick to offer whatever help you need. It’s a quiet place without many people going through and you can’t hear anything going on in the other houses. The WiFi is very good and each hut has its own router."

The towels provided are every small (basically hand towels) - that’s not bad really but it’d be nice if that information was provided. Kind of no place to put your skis and snowboards except on the small terrace - unless you’d like them in your bedroom - but that’s not a big problem.

"In general all were super. My family and I spent a good time in this fabulous place!"

1. There was no Iron in the room (it is written in the room facilities) 2. Noisy neighbours (they celebrated birthday and used equipment for loud music and jumped in the pool)

"Great and unusual stay! Because is non tourist season, most of places near were closed, but owner kindly suggested to us where we can enjoy food - place Ataman, with kind woman i house athmosfer. Super clean place, amazing view, birds, and parking - everything for the trip on wild nature. They also have very cute cat if you love animals 😊 Forest near, lake, we really enjoyed walking around."

The staff was incredibly friendly and professional, ensuring a warm welcome and attentive service throughout. The lodge itself was impeccably clean, and the pool area provided a perfect spot for relaxation. Additionally, the breakfast served at Top Lodge was simply delicious, and filling. "This experience was amazing being in nature while having a luxurious living space is a rare combination moreover we got to enjoy this wonderfull experience without any bugs this is one off the many positive sides of this compound I really recommend it especially for large groups and kids as the environment is kids friendly with emotional support animals like golden retrievers"

"Nina is a charming and caring host who gave us great tips on things to do and places to eat. The property is wonderful, the rooms spacious, comfortable and cozy and the breakfast was delicious!! We should have stayed longer!!!"

The weather. Its so upredictable!!

"I loved that it was nestled in its own private space. There are 4 lodges in the vicinity and all have their own balcony’s that you can enjoy individually. Our water pressure was great. Also the unit was nice and clean."

Nothing: We actually didn’t book the transfers cause we had another vehicle organised however that fell through. But mama let us go first to the lodge and she’d wait at the airport. Lucky she got a ride back home from the family at airport. She has an immense amount of responsibility and knowledge of the island. As a local to Rarotonga people like her are very rare to be around. I am so grateful to have had crossed paths with her. Na te Atua I tauturu iakoe e Mama Manarangi. Maroiroi koe I toou oraanga. Meitaki atupaka kiakoe no te akonoanga ia tatou.

"This is a beautiful and well run place to stay. I was made welcome as soon as I arrived. Room was very nice and such good value for money. Peaceful place even with it being next to the lake where there was much singing and dancing and fireworks for the water festival (Bon Om Touk). Green and lush surroundings. I ordered my chicken fried rice when I arrived for 4 hours later. 4 hours later I was eating chicken fried rice."
