Bordering the Namib-Naukluft National Park, this country lodge in Solitaire offers spacious rooms that face the central courtyard with its swimming pool. There is an on-site restaurant and BBQ facilities. Stone floors give the guest accommodations an African touch. Each includes coffee/tea facilities, a seating area, air conditioning and a private bathroom. Breakfast is served daily in Solitaire’s restaurant with its open fireplace and large windows. The owner also sells homemade bread and apple pie. Solitaire is the only village with a gasoline station and post office between the dunes at Sossusvlei and the coast at Walvis Bay. The lodge can also provide fuel and tyre repairs.

"This is a very nice hotel located alomost in the middle of nowhere, the 'town' is very small, but the hotel is very nice, there is a swimming pool, rooms are big and there is hot/cold water, restaurant serves good breakfast and nice choice for dinner, very friendly staff at the reception."

"Fantastic location miles from anywhere, a oasis in the desert, renowned for the best apple pie in Namibia. Great place, fuel and food avable. Acvomodation chalet type accomodation simple, clean and with a fantastic powerfully shower to blast thar desert dust away. Highly recommended and will visit again next time we are passing."
"Little crickets or locas what ever they where dive bombing the window all night, but yiu get use to it after 30 minutes, a bit like rain hitting the window."

"It was literally an oasis in the middle of the desert. The property was easy to find, well maintained (daily pruning, cleaning and maintenance) and very romantic looking. It felt like we were on a movie set."
