"Hostel is really clean, liked the common area. Female dorm is quite spacious and also has a small fridge in the room. Staff was also really nice and helpful. The hostel is far from downtown, which could be a bad or a good think, depending on your plan."

"Staff doesn't have a good English so sometimes communication can be difficult. Only cash payments."

"I like the location near Almouj Harbour, because I went to see turtles in Dimaniyat Islands, just 10 Minutes with car, and to the airport, also 10 Minutes. The attention of the Personal is top. They cooked sometimes and we could share. There is also a nice beach with walking distance."

"Amazing place where you can feel comfortable, welcome, safe and simply just like at home. The rooms are comfortable and very clean! I have never seen such clean hostel in my life. The beds are comfortable and there is bathroom in every room. But the best part about this place are people, the guys managing the hostel. You can feel their good energy and warm heart every day. They care about their guests, and you can feel that's not because they need good reviews - its because they are like this: warm, respectful, helpful, caring and fun people. I came there for one night and I stayed for many more. I higly recommend this place to all toursists in Muscat!!!"

"This is a great value place to stay and the hosts of Dar Shaden are really kind, welcoming and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place for backpackers or solo travellers. There’s some food outlets and shops opposite and well located if you are wanting to go to Al Mouj Marina- you can walk there in 20 minutes. There’s a TV with netflix and playstation - be warned.. the host is very good at Fifa ! haha . thanks for having me !"

"The only downside is the location is a little far out if you are wanting to do things in central Muscat /further up the coast."
