Monte Santo Resort

"Beautiful grounds, efficient and professional staff, very clean and spacious rooms with comfortable beds and kitchen that was well stocked with utensils and cooking equipment. Parking available near our room. We had breakfast at the resort once and it was very good. Quiet, residential area and a nice but longer hike to town. You need a car here but will use it for your adventures around the Algarve! Indoor heated pool was one of the main reasons we booked here for our March visit as outdoor pools are open but too cold for most."

"We tried to have breakfasts and lunches in our rooms to lower costs and so would have appreciated hand towels for the kitchen and dish washing soap (we bought some). Also bring your own hair conditioner. When we visited, it was cool and rained quite a bit and there is not much to do at the resort so keep in mind you'll need to be out and about. The hot tub was disappointing, small and not very hot with weak jets. Turkish bath was closed during our visit. Basically winter seems to be a time for repairs and upgrades in Portugal, keep this in mind and be ready to spend your days off the resort. With so much to do in the Algarve, it shouldn't be a barrier!"

"Our 5th time staying at MS and 2nd time this year. Excellent as always. Accommodation superb, breakfast excellent. Staff great. Gardens looking excellent after the replanting programme. Great to see them repainting some of the blocks now."

"Spa area needs a bit of TLC. One hot tub out of action, the other barely functioning. Steam room door wouldnt shut, sauna door handle broken. Small things but they are very visible. However, overall the resort is superb."

"Lovely resort. The staff were helpful and the pool was never crowded. Our villa was spacious and spotless. Breakfast was excellent, too. We went in October so the outdoor pool felt a little cold, but there is also an indoor pool which is warm."

"The location is slightly isolated, so if you want to see anything outside of the resort, including the beach, you need to drive. We rented a car and it made the hotel a great location for us."

"I have stayed at a few of these type of resort. This one was lovely very compact. Restaurant and bar area really nice with an outside area. The swimming pool is huge with a bar near the pool. Plenty of comfortable sun beds and umbrellas. Whether you have a suite or a townhouse the facilities are exceptional with All mod cons."
