It's pleasantly cool in summer even during the heat, although there's no air conditioning. A special highlight is the mountain river flowing nearby — you can hear its sound at night. The location is truly excellent, especially convenient because the free shuttle bus stop is right next to the hotel. In the pool, the water is very warm, but it was impossible to use it — all the spots around the pool were constantly occupied."

Couldn’t find any ramp which could be wheel chair friendly. A ramp could be introduced for ease of moving luggage’s and for elderly people.

"The hotel was exceptional from arriving to leaving. The little touches make it extra special like free mini bar, little gifts in your room every evening, water hampers on the beach. The beach is amazing, all rooms have perfect views. Staff are very attentive. Breakfast has the best choices, one of the best I have had. Michelin star restaurant is fabulous would definitely recommend."

"The hotel is very clean and the staff are extremely polite. They made us feel very welcome. The facilities of the indoor pool and spa are very clean and well kept. The gym is a plus - very clean and well equipped with a nice view, and it it is open 24/7. The room was very clean. We were given an upgrade, which we appreciated immensely. We ate at The Essence of India which is one of the restaurants at the hotel, and it was to die for. A must when visiting Malta! Overall, a lovely weekend stay, nice and relaxing."

The gym itself is well equipped and clean but can only be reached from the outside. We were there in winter and it was very windy to reach it. So make sure to get a jacket. For the ladies, make sure to have a shower cap on hand as unfortunately our room had a fixed hanging shower faucet which was not ideal but doable. The breakfast is by set time seating, so make sure to plan your stay and book accordingly. When it came to the breakfast food although very good in taste and quality, it was not as vast as I would have expected - especially the desserts. I am a chocolate lover, and there was only one chocolate sponge cake and one choc-au-pain. I am a nutella lover and would have loved a nutella croissant or something along that sort of dessert for breakfast. I however emphasise on how polite and helpful the staff are!

"Everything was excellent.the food was very delicious everyday has every menu (that’s what we like it very much).The staff also especially in the reception was very nice and approachable.on our first day it was a little bit confusing to go in our room but there is a man a very nice man who came with us to show our room and how to get in there.Our stay was definitely perfect we came there to have a relaxation,forget the tiredness in work and also to enjoy the kids and it was really really worth it. We gonna come back for sure."

No i have nothing to say negative because while we are there it was perfect 😍.

"The villa had great privacy, beautiful landscaping, a good layout for our group. It was well-equipped with essentials for cooking/serving. The salt pool was perfect for cooling off after a hike. It was just big enough and always seemed to be at the right temperature. We were delighted by fireflies, tree frogs, bats, local birds, and even a shy ginger cat that wandered past once or twice."

THE ROAD- while we expected a rough access road from reading previous reviews, the construction during our stay detoured us through the banana plantation over an intolerably (for anyone with neck/back problems) rough track that was 4x longer. While the ocean (not a swimming beach) is close enough to hear, there is not much view. It is a peek from one corner of the pool deck, and the upper bedroom. But again, wonderful privacy. Also of note- there are no bug screens on the windows. It was perhaps an assumption on our part with the newer construction, but the mosquitoes did cause some distress, especially for one member of our group. Bring bug spray, After-Bite (anti-itch), and Benadryl if you are prone to reactions.

"The villa setup gives real privacy and calm, and the resort layout on the hillside feels like a Mediterranean-style village. You use the resort shuttle to get around, but it’s easy and well organised. All-inclusive was genuinely excellent, especially the cocktails. We tried two restaurants and the steak restaurant (The Deck) was a standout. Staff were exceptional: warm, relaxed and genuinely helpful. They also did a thoughtful birthday touch which felt personal. A small but adorable detail: they have cute little sunbeds for kids on the beach."

Not a dislike, but good to know - because it’s built on a hill, you’ll use the resort shuttle frequently, but it’s part of what creates the privacy and views.

Staff were polite and amazing, great buffet breakfast, there is mini zoo which had wildlife such as monkeys, crocodile, tortoise, parrot, ostriches, peacocks etc. The rooms and facilities was great and it was a great stay. They provided free shuttle to the airport which is a bonus."

The pool could do with a bit of cleaning.

The location is beautifully quiet and serene, away from the hustle of the city. Surrounded by nature and heritage charm, it felt like a perfect peaceful escape. "Magic Reef is a beautiful resort, very relaxing. The bungalows are well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. It was also great to have our own comfortable lounge chairs on the deck to take in the views out over the reef, watching the waves crashing and the sun setting which was all simply breathtaking. There are a few really good restaurants within walking distance down the beach, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing time. We hired a car for a couple of days to explore around the island, enjoy some beach swimming, snorkeling and to eat at some different restaurants. The pool was great, lovely temperature and depth. Our hosts and all the staff were friendly, helpful and we enjoyed talking with them. Thanks for the beautiful platter in the fridge, the beers, juice etc which was so appreciated. We would highly recommend Magic Reef if you like a small boutique resort."
