"The host of Bami hostel made my stay so comfortable and pleasant. She is such a caring woman! The hostel is always clean and tidy, the showers are warm and the beds are comfortable. Without a doubt my favourite place I have stayed in Laos and would come back in a heartbeat! Thankyou so much for having me!"

"Ann is the kindest and most helpful host you will meet. The hostel is cozy and clean. Beds are comfortable with power outlets, reading light, and privacy curtains. Showers are hot with good water pressure. Wifi is fast. Lots of spots to sit and chill. Right in the touristy center of Thakhek. I will be back!"

"Bed was comfortable. Staff were really friendly. Location is close to the river and around 20 min walk to town. Airport was only a 45 min walk! Breakfast was ok but pool was smaller than in picture."

"The location is just magical at the lakeside just as the pictures show. Dene is mastering being a host. Nothing is to much always willing to help and arrange things. As an Australian in laos he learned to understand the country and gained a lot of knowledge which he is really willing to share. Due to illness we had to stay an extra night, which was no problem at all, food and medicine was arranged by him. If you're looking for a lazy first stop or a relaxing last stop in Laos, this is the place to be."

"Very close to Old Town, the Morning Market and the Mekong. Generally very quiet with only the occasional scooter going by. I had a balcony which was a great extra space."

The resort is located a 5 minute walk past the busy main street which keeps it quiet, with gorgeous views of the hot air balloons at dusk and dawn. Beds are firm and really large. "We had the most amazing time at the Vera Sunset Homestay. Phonephet and his family are very friendly and the island is perfect for a few days off the beaten path. You can just relax in your hammock all day or explore the rural island and play football with the village kids. The food was very good and fresh. The standard of the bungalows is basic and in line with the price. Definitely one of our highlights in hole SOA and we can't wait to come again!"
