"Silent Oasis was our favorite homestay in Sri Lanka! We loved the quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of central Ella, as well as the view of the jungle and tea fields. The family was so sweet and made the best breakfast we had on our travels. Also, the curry they made us for dinner was delicious! The bed was comfy and big, giving the room a hotel feel. They helped us arrange a Tuktuk and gave us great recommendations. It was also a perfect starting point for hiking Ella Rock. We also took a cooking class nearby at Honey Café, which we highly recommend. We would love to come back at some point!"

"This home stay was amazing. Great family. I ate there in the evenings and had breakfast too. The quality was amazing, all freshly cooked. I loved it all. The terrace is lovely, all you can hear are the birds and the monkeys…I really enjoyed my stay there and booked 2 extra nights."

"Everything! The room was spacious and we had the most comfortable beds in Sri Lanka. The family are the sweetest and Amila went above and beyond to make our stay superspecial. Make sure you do the tour with him, especially if you want to see non-touristic amazing secret places. We are not fans of busy places and he took us to waterfalls and viewpoints where no-one was around, a truly memorable experience."

"However There are many insects in the room No shower gel or shampoo provided Birds are very noisy in the morning which might be an issue for some The bathroom is quite basic with very low water pressure and significant fluctuations between hot and cold water There’s no hairdryer no wardrobe and nowhere to hang your clothes The Wi-Fi password didn’t work"

"This place really is an oasis away from all the chaos. We arrived to Ella with the train and very hectic traffic, so to arrive here was very soothing. It may be far for walking, but worth the tuktuk ride. Amila and his family went out of their way to make us feel at home. We each got sick for a day while here, and they made sure we had everything we needed, and even offered to take us to a doctor. We also spent christmas night with a delicious meal cooked for us. Also, the breakfast is AMAZING. Just get there and Amila will help you arrange the rest of your trip ❤️"
